A special aspect of Venice Beach living is a sense of community ... Venice has a spirit! The eclectic diversity and creativity of the community bond residents. They work hard to protect the image and infrastructure of the area. The result is that there are a number of community events (many benefiting charitable organizations) that are enjoyable, educational and fun for everyone ... including children and pets. Below is a sample of some of the community activities and entertainment available to Venetians over the next year.
The Secret Gardens of Venice tour will take place on Saturday, May 4nd, 2013. Celebrated local landscape designer, Jay Griffith, plus other noteworthy landscape designers and residents open their gardens to the public. Docents are on hand to greet visitors and refreshments are served. This is a unique opportunity to see a secret side of Venice. Visit their web site at http://www.venicegardentour.org.

The Venice Art Walk is an annual spring event that allows residents to visit the homes and studios of well-known local artists. Scheduled for Sunday May 19th, 2013, the event benefits the Venice Family Clinic. This is a day of art, music, architecture and fine cuisine. Their web address is http://theveniceartwalk.org/.

The Venice Canals Holiday Boat Parade is an annual holiday event that takes place in December (usually the second Sunday). Canal residents decorate their canoes, rowboats and just about anything that floats. The parade attracts a large number of creatively decorated boats and many more Venice onlookers.
